BEIJING, Aug. 26 (Xinhua) — The 13th session of the Bureau of the 14th National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) concluded in Beijing on Tuesday afternoon. Its main topic was to formulate the 15th Five-Year Plan (2026-2030).
Wang Huning, a member of the Standing Committee of the Politburo of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC Central Committee) and Chairman of the CPPCC National Committee, presided over the closing meeting.
Speaking at the meeting, he called on the CPPCC National Committee members to actively put forward their ideas and suggestions and make efforts to formulate a new plan, focusing on the goal of basically achieving socialist modernization by 2035, as well as the socio-economic development goals and major strategic tasks, reform measures and engineering and construction projects during the 15th Five-Year Plan period.
The meeting adopted a revised set of rules for handling proposals from the CPPCC National Committee.
Also earlier on Tuesday, at the plenary session of the session, 14 members of the Bureau of the CPPCC National Committee delivered speeches on the topic of the session. Their proposals included giving greater strategic importance to developing productive forces of new quality in line with local conditions, taking the comprehensive expansion of domestic demand as a strategic basis for planning, promoting the deep integration of the digital economy and the real economy, and stimulating consumption, etc. -0-
