BEIJING, Aug. 26 (Xinhua) — A truck from the Ereenhot post office loaded with parcels of daily necessities for export arrived at the city's cross-border e-commerce (CEC) supervision center for sorting on Aug. 23. After customs inspection, the truck headed to Moscow via the Ereenhot checkpoint in north China's Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region.
Thus, testing of the delivery of commercial mail to Russia by road through the Eren Hot checkpoint has begun. This was stated in a message posted on the website of the city administration on Tuesday.
The local postal service said that if the test is successful, such operations will be carried out on a regular basis and their volume can be expanded, which will help strengthen the role of the Erenhot checkpoint in the development of cross-border e-commerce between China and Russia.
It is reported that the Erenhot Post Office has successfully launched its energy and power industry operations targeting Mongolia. Based on a modern parcel receiving and sending platform, it provides full-cycle services to energy and power industry enterprises, including parcel collection and processing, export declaration, international land transportation, overseas customs clearance, and final delivery.
In the first seven months of 2025, the international operations service at the Ereenhot post office processed 616,000 orders for energy products worth more than 70 million yuan (about 9.8 million US dollars). -0-
