LOS ANGELES, Aug. 25 (Xinhua) — U.S. private space company SpaceX canceled the 10th flight test of its powerful Starship rocket on Monday due to adverse weather conditions.
The launch was originally scheduled for Sunday from the company's Starbase in the US state of Texas, but was delayed due to problems with ground systems and rescheduled for Monday.
Monday's launch attempt was aborted 40 seconds before liftoff, with SpaceX announcing on social media that the flight had been cancelled due to weather conditions.
The team is determining the next best opportunity for flight, SpaceX said.
The 10th flight test is expected to achieve the same goals as previous missions, including the first deployment of Starship's payload and multiple experiments to return the booster to the launch pad for subsequent launch.
The Starship spacecraft and Super Heavy launch vehicle, collectively known as Starship, are a fully reusable transportation system designed to deliver crew and cargo to low Earth orbit, the Moon, Mars, and beyond. –0–
