The Orenburgneft company (Rosneft's key production asset in the Volga region) and the Government of the Orenburg Region presented jointly developed routes for auto tourists at the hot air balloon festival "Salty Wind of Orenburg".
The tourist center of the region, the city of Sol-Iletsk, became the venue for the first large-scale hot air balloon festival in the Orenburg region. More than 10 thousand spectators from the region and guests from different regions of Russia and neighboring countries took part in the celebration.
As part of the festival, Rosneft volunteers presented three routes for auto tourists: “The Power of Nature” from Orenburg to Ufa, “Relict Pearl” from the regional capital to Buzuluk pine forest, and “Steppe Stories” from Buzuluk to Aksakovo.
The routes are already presented on Rosneft’s special information and service platform –"Horizons of Russia: Come with us!". Thanks to the unique navigation functionality, all interesting locations become stops on the route, which the autotourist can independently collect and change at any time during the trip, based on personal interests and taking into account the location of the necessary services.
Along the routes, at an optimal distance, there are Bashneft gas stations (part of Rosneft Oil Company), where tourists can fill their cars with guaranteed high-quality fuel, eat delicious food, relax comfortably, and buy the goods they need on the road, including locally produced goods.
The festival guests who ascended in a hot air balloon were able to enjoy the landscapes of one of the starting locations of the "Power of Nature" auto route from a bird's eye view, the famous healing lakes of Sol-Iletsk, sand dunes and a picturesque panorama of ancient chalk mountains. Visitors to the ethnographic museum "Cossack Kuren" learned about the history of the emergence of the local Cossacks and their traditions, and immersed themselves in the atmosphere of Cossack life in the late 19th and early 20th centuries.
For three days, Orenburg residents watched spectacular flights of brightly coloured balloons; those who wished could feel like true aeronauts and enjoy the breathtaking views of the endless Orenburg steppes.
The festival also included the 18th Sol-Iletsky Watermelon Festival, which preserves long-standing local melon-growing traditions. The festive program featured especially popular tastings of watermelon and melon dishes, master classes for adults and children, and a competition for the largest watermelon. The gastronomic festival ended with a live music concert.
Rosneft actively supports initiatives to develop domestic automobile tourism and aims to create comfortable conditions for car travelers. Developing roadside service and improving the level of customer service provided at the Company's petrol stations is one of the priority areas of activity.
