St. Petersburg, Aug. 24 (Xinhua) — A fire broke out at Novatek's terminal in the Russian port of Ust-Luga due to attacks by Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), Leningrad Region Governor Alexander Drozdenko said on Sunday.

According to him, on the morning of August 24, 10 drones were destroyed over the port, the wreckage of one of which caused a fire. There were no casualties, the fuel tanks were not affected by the fire. The open fire was extinguished, repair and restoration work began at the site, the head of the region added.

The drone attack alert regime was introduced in the Leningrad Region on Saturday and lifted on Sunday morning. Drones were destroyed in the Tosnensky, Kirishsky, Gatchinsky and Kingiseppsky districts of the region. –0–
