BEIJING, Aug. 24 (Xinhua) — The first premium-class freight train as part of the China-Europe international railway freight transportation was sent from Shenyang, capital of Northeast China's Liaoning Province, to the Bely Rast transport and logistics center (TLC) in Moscow on Saturday, local newspaper Shenyang Ribao reported.
The train, loaded with 55 containers of electrical equipment and household goods, will cross the state border at the Manzhouli checkpoint in the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region of North China and is expected to directly arrive in “White Rust” in 10 days, covering a distance of more than 8,000 km.
In January this year, Shenyang successfully became the national hub of China-Europe trains. A total of more than 3,870 China-Europe freight trains have been operated from Shenyang since the city launched its services in September 2017, with an average annual growth rate of over 30 percent, and the total value of imported and exported goods carried by such trains was about US$9 billion. From here, the trains deliver goods to more than 50 cities in 20 overseas countries, including European and Central Asian countries, as well as Japan and the Republic of Korea.
Compared with standard trains, the premium route has significant advantages in a number of key aspects. In particular, the organization of transportation ensures priority allocation of transport capacity, preferential change of wagons at checkpoints and priority acceptance abroad, which guarantees highly efficient logistics with a 30 percent reduction in travel time. In terms of customs, innovative operating modes have been introduced, such as “express customs clearance for trains” and “pre-loading inspection”, which guarantees the fastest possible customs control procedure, the city’s development and reform committee reported.
As for the quality of service, visualization and tracking of cargo at all stages of transportation are provided, which increases the transparency and controllability of logistics processes, the department added.
As the responsible representative of the committee emphasized, the launch of this train will provide better and more convenient international logistics services for the exit of high-value-added goods such as automobiles and their components from the northeastern region of China abroad. This will also create new favorable opportunities for expanding trade and economic cooperation between the northeastern regions of China and Russia. -0-
