St. Petersburg, Aug. 22 (Xinhua) — A special exercise on types of support is underway in the Russian Baltic Fleet, the Russian Defense Ministry reported on Friday.
About 1,000 servicemen and up to 100 units of weapons, military and special equipment are involved in the exercise. Training points have been deployed where servicemen practice organizing all types of support.
The servicemen demonstrated their skills in detecting and capturing a group of underwater saboteurs, as well as using FPV drones to destroy unmanned boats of a mock enemy. In addition, actions were practiced to protect the airfield from attacks by unmanned aerial vehicles using electronic warfare systems and equipment.
The progress of the exercise was inspected by the Commander-in-Chief of the Russian Navy, Admiral Alexander Moiseyev, the ministry reports. –0–
