BEIJING, Aug. 18 (Xinhua) — Chinese Premier Li Qiang on Monday stressed efforts to consolidate and expand the momentum of China's economic recovery and improvement and to fulfill the country's annual economic and social development goals and tasks.
Presiding over the ninth plenary session of the State Council, Li Qiang called for maintaining a comprehensive and dialectical view of the economic situation, actively responding to various uncertainties, ensuring the effective implementation of the decisions and orders of the CPC Central Committee, and achieving the best possible results through concrete practical actions.
According to him, it is necessary to improve the effectiveness of macroeconomic policy implementation, focus on key priorities to strengthen domestic circulation and use its stability and long-term growth to protect against international uncertainty.
Li Qiang also called for consistently unleashing the potential of consumption, systematically lifting restrictions in the consumer sector, and accelerating the cultivation and strengthening of new growth points such as service consumption and new-type consumption.
He also pointed out that vigorous measures should be taken to consolidate the trend of stabilization of the real estate market, and called for deep integration of scientific and technological and industrial innovation, relentless promotion of high-level opening-up to the outside, and orderly expansion of both proactive and unilateral opening-up.
The head of the Chinese government added that more efforts must be made to maintain stable employment, improve the well-being of the population and strengthen supervision of industrial safety, as well as further strengthen disaster prevention, damage mitigation and assistance to victims. –0–
