BEIJING, Aug. 18 (Xinhua) — A total of 15,000 passenger vehicles and 163,000 freight vehicles passed through the Horgos Port of Northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region in the first seven months of 2025, the Xinjiang Daily newspaper reported, citing a source in the Horgos Port of International Road Transport Administration.
Both figures rose by 25 percent and 14.7 percent, respectively, the data showed.
In addition, during the reporting period, the volume of passenger traffic and cargo turnover through this checkpoint on the Chinese-Kazakh border amounted to 511 thousand person-times and 1.783 million tons, increasing year-on-year by 33 percent and 19.3 percent, respectively.
The international bus station in the city of Khorgos operates two routes to the Kazakh cities of Almaty and Zharkent. In January-July of this year, 180 thousand people went abroad from this station, which is 25 percent more than a year earlier, according to data from the bus station administration.
In order to ensure convenience and unhindered clearance of trucks, the above-mentioned agency supports the coordination of actions with the relevant authorities of the Kazakh side through various channels, and also facilitates the registration of customs declarations online. -0-
