BEIJING, Aug. 14 (Xinhua) — Ahead of the 80th anniversary of the Victory in the World Anti-Fascist War and the end of the China-Russia Cross-Cultural Years, China's Jiangxi TV and Russia Today have begun filming the project "Melody Through Time and Space," a special edition of the China-Russia cultural exchange.
The presentation of this project took place on Wednesday at its filming location – the landscape area of the famous ancient Chinese pavilion “Tengwangge” in the city of Nanchang /the administrative center of Jiangxi Province, East China/. According to information from the website of the China Daily newspaper, the presentation was attended by the general director of Jiangxi TV channel Wan Hujin, the head of the broadcasting service of RT channel in China Vsevolod Pulya and his entourage, as well as artists from both countries.
As announced at the presentation, filming will take place on August 14 on a makeshift stage right on the pedestal of the Tengwangge Pavilion, which is considered the “cultural calling card” of Nanchang. Original postcard-style decorations, an old pavilion acting as a background, framed by artistic lighting, as well as projections on the stage curtains – all this promises viewers an unforgettable immersive audiovisual experience.
The concert will be held under the slogan "When Jasmine sounds, Kalinka echoes it", which symbolizes the wonderful clash of Eastern and Russian cultures, distinguished by their unique flavor. Famous Chinese and Russian singers will perform on stage, including Wu Bixia, Zhang Bichen /female/, Nikolai Baskov, Tatyana Kurtukova and Yulia Parshuta. The artists will perform many numbers together.
The TV version of the concert will be shown simultaneously on September 12 and 19 on Jiangxi TV and Russia Today at 21:30 Beijing time.
Industry experts note that this project is an unprecedented example of joint filming of a TV show for TV channels in China and Russia, which opens up new horizons in humanitarian and cultural cooperation between media organizations of the two countries. -0-
