FUZHOU, Aug. 14 (Xinhua) — Typhoon Podul made landfall in Zhangpu County, east China's Fujian Province, on Thursday night, according to the provincial meteorological service.
The 11th typhoon this year made landfall in Zhangpong County at around 00:30 on August 14. At that time, the maximum wind speed near its epicenter reached 11 points (30 meters per second).
Earlier on Wednesday at around 1:10 p.m., Podul made its first landfall, hitting Taitung County in Taiwan. -0-
