Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Patrushev held a working meeting with Acting Governor of the Nenets Autonomous Okrug Irina Gekht. The main topics were issues related to the development of the agro-industrial complex, as well as ensuring environmental well-being. In particular, special attention was paid to the elimination of accumulated damage to the environment and environmental protection activities.

Dmitry Patrushev and Irina Gekht discussed the implementation of the state program for the integrated development of rural areas in the Nenets Autonomous Okrug, as well as the dynamics in the production of agricultural products. Thus, in the first half of this year, the indicators in meat livestock farming increased.

In terms of ecology, Irina Gekht reported that one of the most pressing problems for the Arctic regions is the elimination of accumulated damage. Dmitry Patrushev noted the importance of this work, since it depends on ensuring the environmental safety of the Arctic zone and improving the quality of life of northerners.

The meeting discussed the results of the region's participation in the national project "Ecology". In the Nenets Autonomous Okrug, measures were implemented to create a comprehensive system for handling solid municipal waste. The total funding amounted to more than 20 million rubles. Within the framework of the launched national project "Ecological Well-Being", all this work will be continued, and water bodies will also be cleaned in the region.
