BISHKEK, Aug. 13 (Xinhua) — Kyrgyz Economy and Commerce Minister Bakyt Sydykov met with an Afghan delegation led by Acting Minister of Trade and Industry Noureddine Azizi, who arrived in Bishkek on a visit, the press service of the Kyrgyz Economy and Commerce Ministry reported on Wednesday.
During the talks, B. Sydykov noted that the visit of the Afghan delegation is an important step towards further intensification and deepening of bilateral cooperation. The Kyrgyz side expressed interest in finding new mutually beneficial areas of cooperation covering promising areas of the economy, and informed the Afghan side about the ongoing economic reforms and significant potential for increasing mutual trade.
In turn, N. Azizi noted the prospects for expanding bilateral cooperation, including in the trade, economic and investment spheres.
The parties agreed to open trading houses in the two countries to strengthen trade and economic cooperation.
Following the meeting, a “road map” for the development of cooperation and a memorandum of understanding on trade and economic cooperation were signed. –0–
