HARBIN, Aug. 13 (Xinhua) — The Krasnoyarsk Chamber Orchestra held a concert at the Harbin Grand Theater in northeast China's Heilongjiang Province on Monday evening. The event, organized as part of the 37th Harbin Summer Music Festival, was dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the Victory in the World Anti-Fascist War and the 185th anniversary of Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky's birth, Partners magazine reported.

The concert was part of the program of the Years of Culture of China and Russia 2024-2025, and also a continuation of successful international cooperation between Chinese and Russian musicians.

Larisa Markosyan, Director of the International Chamber Orchestra Music Festival “Asia-Siberia-Europe”, highly appreciated the musical atmosphere of Harbin. She thanked Harbin for such a warm invitation, which allowed them to visit a city filled with artistic spirit, and also to take part in the high-class music festival “Harbin Summer”. She expressed hope that in the future there will be more opportunities for deep cooperation with Chinese musicians.

Ilya Nikolaev's masterful cello playing captivated the entire hall. After the concert, he was surrounded by enthusiastic spectators holding flowers in his hands, wanting to take a photo with him. He noted that Harbin is so beautiful that once you've been here, you don't want to leave. The local public's sincere love for music deeply touched him.

On August 6, musicians from the Harbin Symphony Orchestra gave a joint concert with the Krasnoyarsk Chamber Orchestra in the Great Hall of the Philharmonic. This is the third trip to China for the Krasnoyarsk Chamber Orchestra. The orchestra first performed in front of a Chinese audience in 2015, which marked the beginning of fruitful cooperation. -0-
