BEIJING, Aug. 13 (Xinhua) — The Chinese and Kazakh sides on Tuesday signed a memorandum of support for the implementation of the Kazakhstan-China (Wenzhou) Industrial Park project in Wenzhou City, East China's Zhejiang Province, the Wenzhou Daily newspaper reported.

The signing ceremony took place during a meeting between Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and Mayor of Wenzhou Zhang Wenjie and Deputy Akim of the Turkestan Region Talgat Kozbekov.

Zhang Wenjie noted that the two regions have significant complementarities in resource potential, industrial structure and development strategies, expressing hope for strengthening ties and cooperation in the fields of economy, trade, education, and cultural exchanges.

T. Kozbekov, in turn, pointed out that China is one of the key investors in Kazakhstan, and shared expectations regarding closer exchanges and connections between the Turkestan region and the city of Wenzhou, as well as expansion of cooperation results in agriculture, manufacturing, energy, tourism and other areas. -0-
