HANOI, Aug. 13 (Xinhua) — Vietnamese Prime Minister Pham Minh Trinh has instructed the Ministry of Industry and Trade to continue tariff negotiations with the United States to seek the most favorable conditions for Vietnam, aiming to reach a comprehensive, balanced and sustainable trade agreement, the Vietnam News Agency (VNA) reported on Wednesday.

The head of government instructed ministries, local authorities and state-owned enterprises to take measures in response to Washington's tariff policy.

The United States has cut tariffs on Vietnamese goods from 46 percent to 20 percent since August 1, in line with an executive order by U.S. President Donald Trump that changed tariff rates for 69 trading partners. –0–
