KABUL, Aug. 13 (Xinhua) — Police killed two armed robbers and arrested three others in Afghanistan's northern Kunduz and Balkh provinces on Tuesday, officials said Wednesday.
In the first incident on Tuesday morning in Imam Sahib district of Kunduz province, police wanted to arrest two armed robbers, but they resisted and were eventually killed, the provincial police department said in a statement.
In similar operations against criminal elements, police arrested three robbers in Mazar-e-Sharif, the provincial capital of Balkh, and recovered more than $3,000 from them, a provincial police spokesman said. -0-
