CAIRO, Aug. 13 (Xinhua) — A Hamas delegation arrived in Cairo on Tuesday to discuss resuming ceasefire talks in the Gaza Strip, hoping to reach an agreement on a temporary 60-day truce, local Al-Qahira Al-Ikhbariya TV reported, citing an official Egyptian source.

According to him, Egypt is working intensively with all interested parties to resume ceasefire negotiations in order to achieve a truce in the Gaza Strip.

The source said a delegation of Hamas leaders led by Khalil al-Haya had arrived in Egypt to consult with local officials on the Gaza ceasefire talks. He stressed that the visit was taking place after the negotiating process had reached a deadlock.

Earlier on Tuesday, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said he believed there was no longer any prospect of a partial ceasefire and a deal with Hamas to free the hostages. –0–
