BEIJING, Aug. 13 (Xinhua) — The Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAC) and the National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC) recently jointly released a report on the construction and development of the "Air Silk Road," outlining the achievements in the construction of the "Air Silk Road" and prospects for cooperation in this direction, the CAC website reported.
The report said that the construction of the "Air Silk Road" is an important content of the joint implementation of the Belt and Road Initiative. At present, China has regular passenger flights connecting the country with 61 Belt and Road countries, and regular cargo flights connecting the country with 33 Belt and Road countries.
In addition, as of the end of June 2025, China has signed intergovernmental air service agreements with 107 participating countries, covering nearly 70 percent of all countries participating in the joint construction of the Belt and Road.
From 2017 to the end of June 2025, China and Belt and Road countries carried out a total of 1.559 million flights, with the air passenger flow reaching 200 million person-times and the volume of cargo and mail transported reaching 5.951 million tons.
