BEIJING, Aug. 12 (Xinhua) — The 9th Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) youth creativity camp and teachers' seminar kicked off in Yinchuan City, capital of northwest China's Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region, on Monday, the Ningxia Daily reported.

The five-day event, entitled “Building a Green Shield, Sharing Science and Technology,” is bringing together teachers and teenagers from eight countries, including Russia, Egypt and Indonesia.

They will reportedly visit real technology sites at the NHAR Science and Technology Museum to see cutting-edge scientific achievements up close, visit the Zhongwei Sand Experimental Station to experience the amazing desertification control technology, the “straw cell method,” and explore the “green energy town” to uncover the secrets of solar energy.

The event was jointly organized by the All-China Society for Science and Technology (ACSST) and the Ministry of Science and Technology of the People's Republic of China, with the assistance of the Youth Science and Technology Center of ACSST, the China Association of Children's Science Teachers, and the Science and Technology Society of NHAR. -0-
