NEW YORK, Aug. 11 (Xinhua) — Dozens of people were injured in an explosion at US Steel's Clairton Coke Works coking plant in Pennsylvania on Monday.
Local media, citing district authorities, reported that an operation is currently underway to rescue people trapped under the rubble following the explosion.
It is not yet clear how many people were blocked.
In a post on social media site X, Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro said his administration is in contact with local authorities as they deal with the aftermath of the explosion.
Lieutenant Governor Austin Davis issued a statement saying the state is providing all necessary resources and manpower to assist with the emergency response. –0–
