In the first half of 2025, Bashneft (part of Rosneft) allocated almost 4.1 billion rubles to implement environmental projects.
Preserving the environment for future generations is one of the key principles of Rosneft's activities. The company and its subsidiaries aim to achieve leadership positions in minimizing environmental impact, increasing the environmental efficiency of production and preserving ecosystems.
One of the significant areas of Bashneft's environmental protection activities is forest restoration. During the first half of the year, the company's employees planted 240 thousand trees on the territory of Bashkortostan on a total area of 69 hectares, of which 24 thousand seedlings were planted on the shore of Aslikul, the largest lake in the region. In the second half of the year, forest restoration work will continue in the Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Okrug.
Biological treatment facilities (BTF) of the Ufa group of oil refineries play an important role in the Company's work to optimize the use of water resources. During January-June, the treatment facilities processed 11.7 million m3 of wastewater. In total, over 169 million m3 of wastewater have already been purified in 7 years of operation. The facilities not only service the Bashneft oil refinery, but also purify wastewater from 66 enterprises in the northern industrial zone of Ufa and storm water. The high level of purification of industrial, storm water and domestic wastewater has made it possible to increase the volume of reused water in technological processes by 2.5 times. The quality of the resulting water meets the standards for water bodies used for fisheries.
Based on the results of the first half of the year, Bashneft also ensured the beneficial use of associated petroleum gas at its assets in Bashkiria at the level of 95.7%. The company completed the modernization of furnaces at the units of two of its plants. The implemented measures will lead to a reduction in the volume of emissions into the atmosphere by 1% per year.
Bashneft continued active work to reduce the volume of accumulated oil-containing waste using modern technologies that have passed the state environmental assessment. During the reporting period, about 50 thousand tons of oil waste were processed.
