WASHINGTON, Aug. 8 (Xinhua) — U.S. President Donald Trump said on Friday on the Truth Social social media platform that he will meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin in the U.S. state of Alaska on Aug. 15.
Details will be released later, he added.
Russian Presidential Aide Yuri Ushakov confirmed that V. Putin and D. Trump will discuss options for achieving a long-term peaceful settlement of the Russian-Ukrainian conflict at the upcoming summit, RIA Novosti reports.
On Thursday, D. Trump said that a meeting between the Russian and Ukrainian leaders is not a condition for his talks with V. Putin. –0–
