Moscow, Aug. 7 (Xinhua) — Russian President Vladimir Putin said that both he and the United States expressed interest in meeting with U.S. President Donald Trump.
“Interest was shown on both sides, who said what word first is no longer important,” noted V. Putin, answering a journalist’s question about who initiated the summit.
When asked about the location of the upcoming meeting, the Russian leader replied that the UAE could be one of the most suitable places.
"We have many friends who are willing to help us organize events of this kind. One of our friends is the president of the United Arab Emirates. I think we will decide, but this would be one of the suitable, quite suitable places."
As for a possible meeting with Ukrainian leader Volodymyr Zelensky, according to the Russian president, there are no conditions for such a meeting yet.
