Moscow, Aug. 6 (Xinhua) — The conversation between Russian President Vladimir Putin and Stephen Witkoff, special envoy of U.S. President Donald Trump, was useful and constructive, the Russian head of state's aide Yuri Ushakov said on Wednesday, commenting on the talks held in the Kremlin.
"Special envoy of the US President Steve Witkoff was received by our president this morning. A very useful and constructive conversation took place," TASS quotes Yuri Ushakov as saying.
Speaking about the topics discussed during the meeting, the Kremlin representative named the Ukrainian crisis, as well as the prospects for the possible development of strategic cooperation between Russia and the United States.
“On our part, in particular, some signals were transmitted on the Ukrainian issue. Corresponding signals were also received from President Trump,” added Y. Ushakov. –0–
