Assistant of the Higher School of Sports Education of the Institute of Physical Culture, Sport and Tourism Kirill Prigoda together with Miron Lifintsev, Andrey Minakov and Egor Kornev won gold medals at the World Aquatics Championships in Singapore in the 4x100m medley relay. The swimmers covered the distance in 3 minutes 26.93 seconds.

The guys not only won the first Russian gold in the history of the World Championships in this type of program, but also set a new record for the European and World Championships.

Let us recall that Kirill Prigoda also won this championship gold in the 4x100m medley relay and silver in the individual 50m breaststroke.

Fortune smiled on another swimmer from the Polytechnic, a student of the Civil Engineering Institute, Alexander Shchegolev – he became a prize winner of the 32nd World Universiade, which took place in Germany. Russian athletes competed under the flag of the International University Sports Federation (FISU).

Alexander won silver in the 4x200m relay as part of the team (7:08.33) and bronze in the 100m freestyle (48.34 sec).

The World Universiade was the final start of this season. Of course, not everything worked out, but it was very nice that I managed to take prize places and then see the name of my university at the awards ceremony, – the athlete shared.

Alexander Shchegolev is a two-time world and European champion, a prize winner of major competitions, a participant in the Tokyo Olympics and an Honored Master of Sports of Russia.
