URUMQI, Aug. 4 (Xinhua) — The number of people entering and leaving the China-Kazakhstan International Boundary Cooperation Center "Khorgos" has exceeded 6 million as of Aug. 3 this year, up 66 percent year-on-year, according to the Khorgos border checkpoint.
According to the agency, currently, an average of more than 40,000 people enter and leave the above-mentioned center, located in the city of the same name in the Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region (XUAR, Northwest China), every day.
According to Wang Binghe, a representative of the above-mentioned checkpoint, there are a total of 30 manual inspection channels and 18 rapid inspection channels, which has greatly improved the efficiency of customs clearance.
