FUZHOU, Aug. 3 (Xinhua) — East China's Fujian Province has issued a Level 4 emergency response mechanism over possible flooding, the provincial flood and drought control headquarters said Sunday.
According to the provincial meteorological service, heavy rainfall is expected in Zhangzhou, Putian, Quanzhou, Xiamen and other areas of the province on Sunday. In some of these areas, the rainfall will be accompanied by gusts of wind, the force of which may reach 10 points. In addition, heavy rainfall will hit the central and southern parts of the province on Monday and Tuesday.
The headquarters urged local authorities to closely monitor the effects of heavy rains and promptly take or adjust emergency response measures to floods to ensure the safety of residents and their property.
