BEIJING, April 2 (Xinhua) — Major Chinese airlines including Air China and China Southern Airlines announced on Wednesday that they will increase fuel surcharges for domestic flights from April 5.
The fuel surcharge for flights up to and including 800 km will be 60 yuan (approximately US$8.69), and for flights over 800 km – 120 yuan.
For domestic tickets sold on or before April 4, if changes are made on or after April 5, the price difference will not be charged in accordance with the new standards.
Currently, Chinese airlines charge a fuel surcharge of 10 yuan on domestic routes up to 800 km and 20 yuan on longer routes. -0-
