OTTAWA, April 1 (Xinhua) — Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney condemned Israel's military operation in Lebanon at a press conference on Tuesday, calling it an "illegal invasion" that violates the country's territorial sovereignty and integrity.
Responding to a question about the Middle East conflict, M. Carney said: "This is an illegal invasion, this is an invasion of Lebanon. This is a violation of their territorial sovereignty, their integrity."
As a reminder, the UN Security Council is set to hold an emergency meeting to discuss the recent deaths of three UN peacekeepers in southern Lebanon, who, according to media reports, were killed by Israeli fire.
