BEIJING, April 1 (Xinhua) — China's meteorological service on Wednesday issued a yellow alert for heavy fog in parts of the country.
According to the National Meteorological Center (NMC) of China, dense fog is expected from Wednesday morning to midday in some areas of Shandong, Anhui, Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Jiangxi, Hunan and Guizhou provinces.
In some areas of Anhui, Hunan, and Guizhou provinces, visibility may be reduced to 200 meters due to fog, the National Meteorological Center reported.
Drivers are advised to control their speed to ensure road safety. Airport, highway, and ferry terminal administrations should take appropriate safety measures.
China has a three-tier warning system for heavy fog, with red representing the highest level of danger, followed by orange and yellow. -0-
