Specialists urban economy complex Preparations have begun on the capital's embankments for the opening of summer navigation. This was announced by the Deputy Mayor of Moscow for Housing, Utilities, and Public Works. Petr Biryukov.

"With consistently positive daytime temperatures established, work has begun to prepare the embankments for the spring-summer season and the opening of summer navigation. In total, we will be repairing 82 embankments, including the Moskvoretskaya, Raushskaya, Kremlevskaya, Bersenevskaya, and Krymskaya embankments located in the city center," noted Pyotr Biryukov.

Specialists will clean, wash, and repair the structures. Specifically, they will sandblast and wash the cast-iron railings. After the winter and spring floods, the water approaches and sidewalks will be repaired.

This summer, scheduled repairs will be carried out on the embankments, including sandblasting of granite and local replacement of railings, granite cladding, and parapets.

Joints in the granite facings of several embankments are also planned for repair. This type of repair is carried out every five years. It ensures the safe operation of the structures and prevents the granite slabs from shifting.
