BEIJING, March 31 (Xinhua) — Zhao Leji, Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress (NPC), met with a high-ranking delegation of the Austria-China Friendship Association led by Austrian Federal Council President Markus Stotter in Beijing on Tuesday.

Zhao Leji said that under the strategic guidance of the two heads of state, the agenda of China-Austria relations has been continuously enriched, and cooperation in various fields has been steadily developing.

This year marks the 55th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Austria. China stands ready to work with Austria to implement the important consensus reached by the two heads of state, address each other's core interests and major concerns, create new and exciting examples of cooperation in areas such as the green transition and digital economy, strengthen cultural and people-to-people exchanges, promote people-to-people rapprochement, uphold multilateralism, and promote the deepening of the friendly strategic partnership between the two countries, Zhao Leji noted.
