A sika deer, a first-category state-protected animal, was recently spotted in Jieba Village, Naidong District, Shannan City, Xijiang Autonomous Region. Thanks to the ongoing improvement of the local ecological situation and enhanced biodiversity conservation measures, the sika deer population is gradually increasing, a clear sign of the improved ecology of the Xijiang Plateau.
