Beijing, March 30 (Xinhua) — The China-Russia Week of Vocational Education Events opened last Saturday at Tianjin Vocational Normal University, bringing together more than 300 representatives from government agencies, universities, vocational schools, and industry enterprises from both countries. The news agency, Zhongxinshe, reported this on its official website on Sunday.

The theme of the Week is “Joint education, joint scientific research, and joint management for the high-quality development of vocational education in China and Russia.”

On the sidelines of the event, a cooperation agreement was signed between Tianjin Vocational and Technical Normal University and the Institute for the Development of Vocational Education, and a number of Russian scientists were invited as experts to the Analytical Center for the Development of Vocational Education for the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) countries.

As one of the key events of the Week, the China-SCO Vocational Education Cooperation Center held a presentation of a number of results achieved in the field of vocational education.

At the same time, during the roundtable meeting, an in-depth exchange was held on the topic of “Creating a new architecture for the coordinated development of vocational education between China and Russia” and a discussion of the path to high-quality development of vocational education in the two countries.

In parallel with the event, a book exhibition on the theme of Sino-Russian cooperation and exchanges was held, during which more than 100 books were selected to showcase important achievements in Sino-Russian exchanges and cooperation in recent years.

As it has become known, the Week of Events will last seven days, after which other events are planned, including a dialogue between rectors and a seminar dedicated to promoting the development of Chinese-Russian cooperation in the field of education at a higher and higher level.

The Week of Events was jointly organized by the China-SCO Vocational Education Cooperation Center, Tianjin Vocational and Technical Teachers University, and the Institute for Vocational Education Development.
