Kyiv, March 28 (Xinhua) – Ukraine is ready for trilateral talks between Ukraine, the United States, and Russia, anywhere. This was reported on Friday by the Interfax-Ukraine news agency, citing Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

As V. Zelensky noted in a television program, the Ukrainian side communicates with the American side "daily," but there is a "complexity"—the feeling that Ukraine is a mediator in the negotiation process, not a party to the conflict.

The Ukrainian president explained that Ukraine favors trilateral meetings and is ready to hold talks in any country. However, due to tensions in the Middle East, the American side is currently not traveling abroad for security reasons and can only hold meetings in the United States. However, "Russia is ready to meet anywhere except America."

"We are working to ensure that meetings take place, somewhere here, in Europe, in Turkey, in Switzerland, anywhere. We are ready for the Middle East," Zelenskyy emphasized.

At a briefing on Thursday, Russian Presidential Press Secretary Dmitry Peskov stated that Russia expects to continue negotiations on a settlement in Ukraine as soon as circumstances permit. According to him, the key issues of critical interest to the Russian side regarding the Ukrainian settlement have not yet been agreed upon.

The previous stage of peace talks involving Ukraine, the United States, and Russia took place on February 17-18 in Geneva, Switzerland. Prior to that, the meetings had been held in Abu Dhabi, UAE. –0–
