March 27 marks 100 days since the launch of independent customs operations throughout Hainan Island!
A press conference commemorating this event was held in Bo'ao on March 26. The published data clearly demonstrates the port's growth dynamics since the introduction of independent customs operations.
Over the past 100 days, the value of goods imported under the "first line" policy, exempt from customs duties, amounted to 1.696 billion yuan, with the duty-free amount amounting to 271 million yuan. Under the "second line" policy, the value of duty-exempt value-added goods sold in mainland China reached 314 million yuan, with the duty-free amount amounting to 15.5802 million yuan. Furthermore, measures to remove prohibited and restricted goods from the list, relax trade regulations, and abolish import licenses have already taken effect.
To date, a total of 11,773 business entities have received the zero-duty regime. In the 100 days since the introduction of the independent customs operations regime, 7,503 foreign trade enterprises have registered; the number of new business entities has reached 85,000, of which 70,100 are enterprises, a 90% increase compared to the same period last year.
Following the launch of the country's first Seventh Freedom air route and the expansion of visa-free travel to 86 countries, Hainan has established even closer ties with the world. Over the past 100 days, the number of incoming and outgoing passengers reached 861,000, of whom 217,000 entered visa-free.
On December 18 last year, China launched independent customs operations throughout the Hainan Free Trade Port (HFTP). This is a significant step in China's continued efforts to increase its high-quality opening to the outside world and advance the construction of an open global economy.
