Harbin, March 27 (Xinhua) — The Organizing Committee of the 10th China-Russia Expo recently held a videoconference to determine that this year's event, a significant milestone in trade and economic relations between the two countries, will be held from May 17 to 21 in Harbin, the capital of Heilongjiang Province, northeast China. The Heilongjiang Provincial Council for the Promotion of International Trade announced this on Friday.
As Chen Shijun, head of the aforementioned committee, stated, this year marks the 30th anniversary of the establishment of the Sino-Russian strategic partnership and the 25th anniversary of the signing of the Treaty of Good-Neighborliness, Friendship, and Cooperation between China and Russia. The anniversary China-Russia Expo is timed to coincide with these important occasions.
According to him, the event will take place at the Harbin International Exhibition and Convention Center, with the main exhibition area covering 55,000 square meters.
Noting that the China-Russia Expo is an important platform for trade and economic cooperation between Russia and China, Mikhail Anisimov, Director of the Department of International Cooperation at the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation, and Pavel Kalmychek, Director of the Department for the Development of Bilateral Cooperation at the Ministry of Economic Development of the Russian Federation, who participated in the videoconference, emphasized the importance of holding this event.
During the videoconference, both sides also exchanged detailed views on the planning and organization of various business events during the EXPO and reached a preliminary consensus.
The China-Russia Expo has been held regularly since 2014, hosting guests alternately in China and Russia. It has become an important platform and a prominent symbol for promoting trade and economic cooperation between the two countries.
