BOAO, HAINAN PROVINCE, March 27 (Xinhua) — Zhao Leji, chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress (NPC), held a discussion with Chinese and foreign entrepreneurs attending the 2026 Boao Forum for Asia (BFA) annual conference in Boao, south China's Hainan Province, on Thursday.

Expressing gratitude to entrepreneurs for their long-term support and participation in China's reform and opening-up, Zhao Leji said that China is willing to work with all countries to firmly safeguard the multilateral trading system with the World Trade Organization (WTO) at its core and create an open, inclusive and non-discriminatory environment for international cooperation.

Zhao Leji added that the Chinese economy has a solid foundation, numerous advantages, high resilience, and great development potential. Moreover, from a long-term perspective, favorable conditions and underlying positive trends remain unchanged. "China has the confidence and ability to achieve long-term stable development and continue to provide strong impetus to global economic growth," he said.

He said China has consistently adhered to the basic national policy of opening up to the outside world and welcomes enterprises from all over the world to continue investing in China and jointly benefit from the opportunities brought by China's high-quality development.
