BEIJING, March 25 (Xinhua) — Chinese Vice Premier Ding Xuexiang said Wednesday that China is ready to work with all parties to build a global scientific and technological community.

Ding Xuexiang, also a member of the Standing Committee of the Politburo of the CPC Central Committee, made the announcement at the opening ceremony of the annual Zhongguancun Forum in Beijing.

The Vice Premier of the State Council proposed creating a more open and inclusive innovation network to foster closer collaboration between various innovation organizations. He also proposed developing broader and more diverse scientific and technological cooperation, strengthening collaboration in basic and cutting-edge research, and promoting the application of new technologies to stimulate the socioeconomic development of all countries.

Ding Xuexiang called for promoting more equitable and inclusive scientific and technological governance and appropriately addressing regulatory conflicts, social risks, and ethical challenges that may arise during scientific and technological development.

The Vice Prime Minister of China recalled that during the 14th Five-Year Plan period (2021-2025), China achieved significant progress in the scientific and technological sector. The country's scientific and technological strength has grown significantly, and China's influence as a key center of global innovation has increased significantly, he stated.

According to Ding Xuexiang, during the 15th Five-Year Plan period (2026-2030), China will step up efforts to achieve greater independence and strength in science and technology, build international scientific and technological innovation centers, and form key strategic fulcrums to transform China into a powerful scientific and technological power.

The 2026 Zhongguancun Forum is themed "Deep Integration of Technological and Industrial Innovation."
