Minsk, March 25 (Xinhua) — The number of electric vehicles owned by Belarusian citizens has increased 2.2-fold by 2025, the country's National Statistical Committee (Belstat) reported on Tuesday.

"Over the past year, there has been a 2.2-fold increase in the number of passenger electric vehicles personally owned by citizens, reaching 44.7 thousand units (20.7 thousand units as of January 1, 2025)," the Belstat press service noted.

According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Belarus, as of the end of 2025, more than 3,190,000 passenger cars were registered as privately owned vehicles.

Furthermore, the number of charging stations for electric vehicles has increased by 1.5 times. According to the Belarusian Ministry of Energy, their number amounted to 2,026 units (as of January 1, 2025, it was 1,323 units).
