MANILA, March 24 (Xinhua) — Philippine President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. on Tuesday declared an energy emergency in the country amid the conflict in the Middle East.

The decree signed by F. Marcos notes that the “imminent danger that has arisen” will pose a threat to the country’s energy supply.

In accordance with the decree, a committee was also established to oversee the orderly supply and distribution of essential goods, including fuel, food and medicine, and to ensure the continuity of operation of critical public services, transportation and the healthcare system. –0–
