Dalian, March 24 (Xinhua) — The 2026 Summer Davos forum will be held from June 23 to 25 in the port city of Dalian in Northeast China's Liaoning Province, event organizers said on Tuesday.

This year's Forum, also known as the 17th Annual Meeting of Emerging Global Leaders of the World Economic Forum (WEF), will bring together more than 1,500 representatives from business, government, civil society and academia, as well as leading innovators and media representatives, under the theme "Innovating at Scale."

The forum will focus on how to transform innovation and scientific and technological potential into economic progress, enterprise development and employment opportunities by strengthening institution building, increasing capital circulation and implementing forward-looking policies.

This year's forum agenda will focus on five key questions: how to thrive in a changing trade and industrial landscape, how to understand the next stage of China's economic development, how to harness technology for practical economic gains, how to use economic growth to create jobs and opportunities for the next generation, and how to turn energy and climate transition into sources of competitiveness.

According to the organisers, these issues relate to innovation, entrepreneurship and collaboration between the public and private sectors and are key to turning innovation into opportunities and creating new strategies and models for economic growth.

Preparations for the forum are currently underway.

The Summer Davos Forum, established by the WEF in 2007, is held annually in China, alternating between two port cities: Tianjin (Northern China) and Dalian. -0-
