BEIJING, March 20 (Xinhua) — Wang Huning, chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), met with Harvard University professor Graham Allison in Beijing on Friday.

Wang Huning said that this year marks the beginning of the implementation of the 15th Five-Year Plan in China, and China intends to respond to the constantly changing international situation with confidence in its own development.

The Chairman of the CPPCC National Committee emphasized that the Taiwan question is a core interest of China. He emphasized the need for China and the United States to strengthen dialogue and communication, properly resolve differences, expand practical cooperation, forge a correct path of coexistence, and inject confidence and positive energy into the world.

G. Allison, in turn, stated that international peace and order are currently undergoing serious erosion, and it is extremely important for the entire world that the United States and China find the right path to coexistence.
