Kyiv, March 20 (Xinhua) — On Saturday, Ukrainian and American sides will hold talks in the United States on ending the armed conflict between Russia and Ukraine. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced this on Telegram on Thursday evening.
According to him, there is a pause in the negotiation process that should be ended.
V. Zelenskyy added that the political part of the Ukrainian delegation has departed for the United States. This includes Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council Rustem Umerov, Head of the Presidential Office (OP) Kyrylo Budanov, Head of the Servant of the People parliamentary faction David Arakhamia, and First Deputy Head of the OP Serhiy Kyslytsya.
This year, Ukraine, the United States, and Russia held several rounds of peace talks, the most recent of which took place on February 17-18 in Geneva, Switzerland. However, due to events in the Middle East, the negotiation process was suspended.
