URUMQI, March 20 (Xinhua) — A total of 54,000 commercial vehicles were exported through the Horgos border crossing in northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region in the first two months of 2026, up 13.9 percent from the same period in 2025 and reaching a historical high, Horgos Customs reported.
In particular, NEV vehicles, which are popular in Central Asian countries and Russia, have become the predominant export vehicle models.
In the face of growing export demand, local customs is constantly optimizing the customs clearance process and implementing a 24/7 working regime (24 hours a day, 7 days a week) to ensure the efficient export of vehicles.
“In January and February of this year, our company exported more than 900 vehicles through the Khorgos checkpoint,” said Liang Hao, CEO of the Khorgos International Freight Forwarding Company Haocheng.
"We not only export to Central Asian countries, but we've also found a market in Russia. I believe the potential for our business to grow in Russia is enormous," he added.
