Moscow, March 19 (Xinhua) — The Russian Prosecutor General's Office must decisively combat extremism and terrorism. Russian President Vladimir Putin stated this Thursday during an expanded meeting of the Prosecutor General's Office board.

“The fight against extremism and terrorism must be in your constant focus,” TASS quotes him as saying.

The Russian head of state called on law enforcement officials to "decisively and aggressively counter extremism and respond harshly to attempts to destabilize the socio-political situation, including through the use of information technology."

V. Putin also noted that the number of terrorist crimes in Russia in 2025 increased significantly.

“Within the scope of the powers granted to you, we must promote increased security for industrial facilities, transport infrastructure, and places where large numbers of people gather,” the Russian President instructed.
