One of the largest FTL transport companies, Technology of Movement, successfully completed a test run of the KAMAZ-54901 vehicle.
A KAMAZ-54901 tractor unit, the latest generation K5, served in a transport company's fleet for a month. The truck was used to deliver dairy products from Moscow to Rubtsovsk (Altai Krai). During the test run, the truck covered nearly 30,000 km.
"The vehicle left a positive impression. The cabin is warm, and even at low temperatures outside, a comfortable microclimate is maintained. The truck has good road holding, holds firmly on the highway, and doesn't sway on uneven surfaces or mountain passes, while the steering doesn't lurch or pull to one side. The engine is powerful: the vehicle climbs well and allows for effortless overtaking. I'd also like to highlight the advanced cabin interior and the large multimedia screen, which looks modern and functional," said Evgeny Teterin, driver for the Technology of Movement transport company, following the trip.
It's worth noting that Tekhnologiya Dvizheniya (Motion Technology) has its own "Long-Haul School," where new drivers are trained in fuel-efficient driving and proper vehicle operation. According to its director, Alexander Novikov, the KAMAZ-54901 truck tractor has become significantly more modern than its predecessors. "The controls have become more responsive, and the engine brake and cruise control function correctly. Overall, the truck feels more comfortable to drive on the highway, and it handles long haul routes with confidence. Almost all of our drivers note that the KAMAZ-54901 is significantly different from previous generations of KAMAZ trucks," noted Alexander Novikov.
The KAMAZ-54901 is equipped with a new KAMAZ-910.52–460 (Euro 5) engine with a displacement of 13 liters, a power output of 482 hp, and a torque of 2,403 Nm. The use of modern, high-tech design solutions has increased the service interval to 120,000 km and the engine life to 1.5 million km, while reducing fuel consumption by 10% compared to previous-generation vehicles. The KAMAZ-54901 truck is equipped with a new 12-speed robotic transmission, featuring low noise and high efficiency, reducing fuel consumption.
