JERUSALEM, March 18 (Xinhua) — Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz said Wednesday that Iranian Intelligence Minister Esmail Khatib was killed in an overnight Israeli strike, according to a statement released by the Defense Minister's office.
During an assessment of the situation with high-ranking military personnel, I. Katz stated that “E. Khatib was responsible for the internal system of assassinations and repression of the regime in Iran, as well as for promoting external threats.”
