BEIJING, March 18 (Xinhua) — Chinese Vice Premier Ding Xuexiang met with Khaldoon Khalifa Al Mubarak, Special Envoy of the President of the United Arab Emirates for Chinese Affairs, in Beijing on Wednesday.
Ding Xuexiang, also a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee, said that under the strategic guidance of the two heads of state, political mutual trust between China and the UAE has been continuously strengthened, and practical cooperation in various fields has yielded fruitful results.
China always views its relations with the UAE from a strategic perspective, the Vice Premier emphasized, adding that China is willing to work with the UAE to implement the important consensus reached by the two heads of state, deepen high-level exchanges, and strengthen cooperation in areas such as energy, investment, and trade, so as to elevate the bilateral comprehensive strategic partnership to new heights and continuously improve the well-being of the peoples of the two countries.
China is ready to make active efforts to quickly restore peace and tranquility in the Persian Gulf region, Ding Xuexiang noted.
Khaldoon Khalifa Al Mubarak, for his part, emphasized the UAE's readiness to steadily develop bilateral relations and continuously expand cooperation in various fields, and also expressed hope that the Chinese side will play a more active role in promoting regional peace.
